I created Plastic Ocean as my final university animation. It took a year from concept to completion and covers a large topic that affects both humans and animals alike. My goal was to create a hard-hitting story to raise awareness for manatees, as they don't seem to have much representation within the media. I worked closely with the Florida-based charity 'Save the Manatee' and also spoke with the Manatee Rehabilitation Centre at Seaworld, to ensure I was producing a realistic yet emotional story that would impact viewers and make them actively think about single-use plastics and the fishing industry.

This film was the reason I obtained a first-class degree and has since been picked up by the My Hero International Film Festival, which is scheduled to take place this November. I am extremely proud of this piece and the message it portrays.
